A Little Lift

This has been one of those weeks. You know the ones.

The week when I end up tired, not just physically, but emotionally. When I’m sick of dealing with problems that I can’t control. And when things haven’t started to look up yet.

I’m sure you can relate. We all hit weeks like that.

What does get us through weeks like this? After all, we keep going when times get hard. We think we’ve hit rock bottom, but we walk on like we’re sure it will get better.

And a lot of the time, it does.

I guess we have this little hope in us that says things won’t always be bad, and that’s what we hold on to.

One of my favorite scriptures is D&C 121:7-8, which is God’s response to Joseph Smith in Liberty Jail. It says,

My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment;

And then, if thou endure it well, God shall exalt thee on high; thou shalt triumph over all thy foes.

Doctrine and Covenants 121:7-8

These verses are brief, but they remind me that God does hear me, even when I feel alone, and that no matter how much I’m struggling, He’s there to comfort me and help me through it.

And those beliefs are what keep me going.

Since we all go through weeks like this, what are some of your favorite scriptures that get you through rough times? Share with all of us, and we’ll all give each other a little lift this week.

  1. Revelation 21:4 – And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

  2. Joshua 1:9- I have always loved this scripture!! It is a great reminder that He is always with us. This reminder gives me strength to be strong and have courage no matter what because Christ is always there for us.
