Our Father’s sacrifices, aside from their role in bringing about our opportunity for progression and recovery in the first place, also highlight for us the absolute priority our progression holds in our Father’s eyes.
t’s always good to look back after the General Conference of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to review what stood out and what was taught during the Conference. So today, let’s highlight a few of the themes that were discussed throughout the April 2021 General Conference.
While we face challenges, loss, and fear in this life, God has promised great things in the future. Hope for those things brings peace as we trust that God will fulfill His promises to us. We can have peace, hope, joy, and more in this life even when things seem hard to bear.
Easter is a time that brings a lot of reflection. I find myself thinking about my standing before God more than other times of the year and about all that Christ did. His life, His mission, His love are all more front of mind, and it makes this time of year sacred.
One of the biggest hallmarks of the Savior’s ministry on Earth was His capacity to love and serve all those around Him. Many of the stories we read about Him involve physically healing the sick. Time is growing short for us to procrastinate making sure we understand these key doctrines and have a solid testimony of them. Our beliefs will be tested, so preparing for those times now will help us stay strong in the future.
Repentance is literally our key to returning to our God. It is a gift from Christ through His Atonement to make sure it is possible for us to have agency and to grow and progress without being permanently lost.
The words of Christ and His prophets are still the most powerful I’ve read. Their words are overwhelming in their truth and doctrine. Testimonies of God, of change, of healing, of progress, and of power fill the pages of scripture.
We humans are really good at making messes. But in any situation we face, Christ can make things right.
Christ is well-known for His life of love. Everything He did – from meeting people on the street to fulfilling His Atonement – was defined by love. To know how we need to show love, we need to understand Christ’s love. We need to recognize what was most important to Him and how He chose to live because of His most important values.
